It’s getting closer the day we call we call Black Friday. With the Thanksgiving left overs safely put away in the refrigerator it’s now time to sit down and take a look at the first Christmas ads of the year.

Lets face it, we all come home tired and worn out after the long day of shopping and hunting down those deals. It’s more like entering a battle field instead of a mall… Every year I tell myself I’m not doing it again, but somehow I get pulled in by all enticing Christmas ads. It takes some planning and organizing your day but I do think it’s possible to enjoy shopping the day after Thanksgiving sales, and here’s how you can do it.

  • Prepare a shopping list of specific items you are looking for. I found the Black Friday Ads site to be very helpful when making out my list.
  • Along with your shopping list bring an envelope to store your coupons as well as your receipts. You don’t want to scatter them in your purse or lose them in the bottom of your shopping bags.
  • Know what you want and where you need to go before the morning you embark on your shopping adventure.
  • Prepare to park in the back of the parking lot. When leaving it will be much easier to get to get out.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and layer your clothing so that you can adjust as the day warms up. No need to wear a bulky coat that you will end up having to carry later in the day.
    When Black Friday shopping, shop in a group. The more people in your group the better.
  • Make sure you all know what the others are looking for, and then team up to get the items. This will make your shopping a lot easier and odds of finding what you’re looking for even greater. Spread out when getting to your destination and have your shopping list in hand.
    Finally, prepare yourself the night before by getting enough sleep. Make sure to set your alarm early enough to eat breakfast. Take along snacks so that you can have them on hand in case you get hungry. Trying to shop the day after Thanksgiving on an empty stomach will only leave you cranky.
